The FullBar Diet Review
The FullBar Diet is based on the premise of helping dieters feel fuller for longer, therefore allowing them to lose weight naturally by eating less and not having the urge to eat too much. This plan was developed by Dr. Michael A. Snyder, a weight-loss surgeon who based the principle of this diet plan on how weight-loss surgery works – by reducing a person’s appetite and cravings. Doing so will allow dieters to eat less, and therefore lose weight.
He developed the FullBar, which is meant to fill a person’s stomach before mealtime in order to help them eat less. By consuming these FullBars before meals, their feelings of fullness will occur sooner, which will inevitably result in less food eaten. Some of the best diet plans are designed to help reduce hunger and cravings so the diet does not feel like such a struggle every day.
Nutrition
Instead of having weight loss surgery to shed some pounds, the FullBar diet works in much the same way as surgery – to allow you to feel full much quicker. Each bar contains between 150 to 180 calories, up to 5 grams of fiber and 1 – 4.5 grams of fat. They also come in a variety of flavors, depending on what your tastes are. By consuming one of these bars before each meal, you will eat considerably less since you are not very hungry. The less food you eat, the more weight you lose.
About half an hour before you eat your lunch or dinner, you are supposed to determine what level of hunger you are at on a scale of 1 to 10 – 1 being not hungry, and 10 being very hungry. After you have established this number, you are to eat one FullBar and immediately drink an 8 ounce glass of water. A few minutes later, you are supposed to re-establish what your hunger level is at, on a scale of 1 to 10 once again.
The FullBar was designed with high-fiber wheat puffs that are supposed to expand in your stomach after following it up with the water. Giving this some time to happen will gradually take much of your hunger away, thereby helping you eat considerably less at lunch and dinner. There is no calorie counting at meal time – simply stop eating once you feel mildly full – not over-stuffed. Meals should take no longer than 20 minutes to finish.
In addition to helping induce satiety much earlier, the FullBar is also meant to help dieters learn about portion control, and when to stop eating just before feeling very full. Learning portion control and how much should be eaten at meal time can help a dieter maintain a healthy weight for the long-run.
Pros
These bars are actually quite delicious, and are a welcome treat for anyone who is on a diet trying to lose weight. The convenience of having a pre-packaged bar also makes this diet plan quite appealing.
Cons
If you are not making any changes to your diet or meal plan with this program, than you can actually risk gaining weight. The aim is to help you feel fuller, therefore drastically cutting back on your calorie consumption at meal time. If you don’t cut back on your meal size, than you aren’t doing any good at all.
The Bottom Line
This diet can work if you make a conscious effort to cut back on calories and portion sizes. You must follow it precisely – meaning that you can’t eat your lunch or dinner until 30 minutes after consuming a FullBar and drinking a full 8 ounce glass of water. Having said that, this diet can truly work if you follow it correctly, and incorporate an exercise regimen to go along with it.
