LA Weight Loss Diet Review

The LA Weight Loss Diet is a counselor-aided weight loss approach, much like Weight Watchers or Jenny Craig. With these types of diet plans, dieters are not only supposed to engage in a specified diet plan and exercise regimen, but they are also expected to attend regular meetings. These types of programs include a coaching session, where the dieter not only gets weighed on a regular basis, but also is able to be coached by professionals in the health and diet industry.

Participants of this weight loss program are able to participate in a center-based counseling session that helps keep them motivated and on track with their weight loss efforts. These counselors are also there to help coach the dieters, and give them any advice on issues they may have in any particular week. The lifestyle, exercise routine and eating habits are all on the table when dealing with a counselor one-on-one.

Nutrition

Personal weight loss programs are designed for each participant of this weight loss program, depending on a variety of unique aspects. Once this specific program is designed for you, you will be expected to meet with your counselor 3 times per week, and keep a food journal to help you identify any areas that are working for you, and any areas that require improvement.

The diet on the LA Weight Loss Diet includes 3 phases:

Phase 1 – This is where all of your desired weight loss occurs, and provides you with the portion control necessary to lose all the weight.

Phase 2 – This consists of a 6 week stabilization period after you have lost all the desired weight.

Phase 3 – This is the maintenance phase that is supposed to stay with you forever.

Foods that are highly discouraged include anything that is high in sodium and refined sugars. Dieters are, however, allowed to slowly add small amounts of sweets back into their diets after all the weight is lost and they have entered their maintenance phase.

Pros

There are no severe food restrictions, and dieters are given quite a bit of flexibility. Dieters are also given counseling sessions, which can be quite helpful, especially on days where you have faced temptation.

Cons

These types of weight loss programs can be quite pricey. For those who can’t afford the hefty price tag, this may be a program you will not want to go on. In addition, there has been speculation that some of the counselors are not actually dieticians, but rather people have contact with dieticians.

The Bottom Line

This is a great diet plan to try if you are one of those people that needs to be held accountable for your actions. The idea of having to report to your center 3 times per week gives you little room to cheat, considering the fact that you will be found out at your visit. The only thing you may want to consider is the hefty price tag, which often comes with these types of counselor-driven weight loss programs.
